Levels of Hospice Care

• Routine Home Care — Scheduled weekly visits from the interdisciplinary hospice team (nurses, social workers, chaplains, aides) to support patients at home; number of visits determined by individual care plan
• General Inpatient Care (GIP) — For pain control or acute symptom management that cannot be managed at home; also known as "Hospice ICU"; provided at the Embrace Hospice House or contracted hospital facility
• Residential Hospice — Most common level at the Hospice House; provides around-the-clock care in a private/semi-private suite; a room-and-board charge applies
• Respite Care — Short-term care (up to 5 consecutive nights) in a contracted facility to provide temporary relief to the patient's primary family caregiver
